Monoblock Power Amplifier ZL-120

Two brands* by one designer. Transcending the boundaries of solid state and vacuum tube. Silicon Arts Design brand first appeared in the form of solid state monoblock power amplifier, indigo-90, in 1993, when designer Masataka Tsuda began crossing the vacuum tube and solid state barrier. Now culminating in this ultimate purist monoblock amplifier, ZL-120, a harbinger of more good things to come from Silicon Arts Design.

ZL-120

ZL-120 is an idealist, minimalist and non-compromise design with meticulous attention to detail in parts selection, layout, and construction, designed and built by Masataka Tsuda in Nagano, Japan, home for many precision mechanical, electronic and optical products.

ZL-120 Rear

We have achieved simplest possible circuitry with minimum number of components, with just two pairs of output MOSFET’s per monoblock in BTL configuration with no overall negative feedback, achieving 120 watts @ 8 ohms.

It is a state-of-the-art power amplifier. Sonically pure and transparent. Revealing, yet involving. Transcending the traditional boundaries of vacuum tube and solid state designs.

“… it transcended most of the solid state designs that have roamed the earth during the past 40 years.”

(Note: Although we use Audio Precision instruments in the testing of our designs, we believe that listening is a much better way to “understand” our designs than is reading specs. The artifacts that you don’t hear with our electronics will tell much more than any spec sheet possibly could. Thus, we have kept the following specifications to a minimum.)
